In the context of International Women's Day, we want to celebrate the power of women worldwide. In this Q&A article, we share the personal insights and experiences of Eva Jorissen, an inspiring woman who works at the fashion house Natan Couture. She dedicates herself every day to empowerment, self-expression, and the power of fashion.

1. Empowerment and Femininity
What does female empowerment mean to you, and how do you apply this in your daily life?
For me, female empowerment means lifting each other up and supporting one another in the choices we make. I see this as a foundation in my work at Natan, where I collaborate with many women. It’s important to learn from each other, listen to each other, and be honest with each other. Additionally, I believe in self-empowerment. I make sure to take time for myself, whether it's by exercising or reading a book. This helps me continue to develop and stay strong in everything I do.
2. Self-expression and Self-confidence
How do you use your platform to inspire and support other women in their self-expression and self-confidence?
On Instagram, I've never tried to present the "perfect picture." You often see me without much makeup and not always in the prettiest outfit. Of course, I realize I am in a privileged position, but that’s precisely because I’ve always stayed true to myself and believed in myself. I hope my Instagram is a source of inspiration for others to be themselves and do what makes them happy, without comparing to external expectations.
3. Influence and Role Models
Who is your role model, and how do you see yourself as a role model for other women?
My role model is Gloria Barudy Vasquez, the CEO of Natan and my mentor. She’s not only an ambitious woman but also a mother who means a lot to me. She has taught me a lot, both professionally and personally. I hope that in turn, I can pass on this knowledge and opportunities to others. My story, especially how I gave up my career as an architect to follow my fashion dreams, is something I want to use to inspire others to always follow their gut feelings, no matter what the outside world says. It was a difficult choice for me, but I’ve never regretted it.
4. International Women’s Day
What message would you like to pass on to other women, both on International Women’s Day and beyond?
My message is simple: always do what feels best for you. No matter what others say, people will always have an opinion. What matters is staying true to yourself and following your own path. That’s the power of true empowerment.
5. Fashion and Meaning
Jewelry can be a powerful way to express your personality and style. What role does jewelry play in your self-expression?
Jewelry is an important part of my outfit. I always say, "Details make or break." Jewelry can completely change the appearance of an outfit and adds a personal touch that speaks to who you are.
Do you have a favorite piece of jewelry that holds special meaning for you?
Yes, I received a bracelet for my birthday from Gloria, my mentor. She has the same one, so it feels very special to wear it. It's not just a piece of jewelry; it’s a symbol of our bond and the valuable lessons she’s taught me.
Fashion, and especially jewelry, often have a deeper meaning. How do you choose the jewelry you wear? Is it a reflection of your mood or something personal?
I often choose my earrings based on the vibe I want to radiate. Sometimes I go for subtle pearls, while other days I opt for bold, chunky earrings. This way, I reflect my mood and personal style in what I wear.
Do you have a piece of jewelry that brings back a special memory?
Yes, I have a ring that I bought on an island in Spain from a goldsmith. It was a beautiful summer evening, surrounded by my family, and that ring reminds me of that carefree holiday. It’s a piece of jewelry that captures the freedom and happiness of those moments.
6. Values in Fashion
What values do you find important in a brand?
For me, a brand’s ecological framework is very important. It doesn’t always have to be about recycling, but the way a brand brings its concepts to life and the message it conveys says a lot about their values. Brands like Odrie, which embrace both sustainable practices and a strong focus on empowering women, really speak to me. They combine luxury with a meaningful message, which for me is the perfect balance.
